INSTRUCTIONS

Project 1-Instructable Poster

For this project, we were asked to create an infographic poster based on videos of recipes from the Pasta Grannies YouTube channel. I selected the recipe video after watching a few others and finally deciding on the one I liked best.

I list out the ingredients needed and the steps of making the potato pie before I start my sketch.

Visual References:

I find some visual references on Pinterest.

Sketches:

According to the references, I sketch out my draft.

After I decided on the composition of my poster, I start to illustrate the assets in AI.

After sketching all the assets, I arrange them in the correct steps before I type out the text.

Draft Poster:

For the text, I chose Source Code Variable as my content font. It is a sans serif font, which will look more simple and easy to read. Here's the first outcome before sir's feedback.

First attempt:

Feedback from Mr Hafiz:

The diagram of the Pizza can be made smaller. For the ingredients can increase the size with the instructions. That will be more important.

Second attempt:

First I brighter the background colour so can see the illustration and the word clearer. After that, the assets is more bigger than the previous attempt.

Feedback from Peers:

Can try to use lines or colours to distinguish different steps. Add the numbers of the steps beside the assets will be more clear to see.

Third attempt:

After I got the feedback from friends, I added different background colours to separate different category.

Final Submission:

Last, I adjusted the brightness of the background colour and size of some assets.
