Project 3-Original Comic Pilot Story

Storytelling (3-act structure):

Act 1 - Setup
In a superpower school, there is a Fire Monster sitting alone in the corner. He is shunned and ridiculed by his classmates and teachers because his superpower is weak. Only a Water Monster is willing to be his friend because he is ostracized like him.

Everyone's superpowers are powerful, but the Fire Monster’s power is useless. Fire Monster can’t control his energy and often hurts people.


Act 2 - Conflict
One day, superhumans from other schools came to the Fire Monster's school to fight. The Fire Monster's classmates were injured, but only Fire Monster was not injured because he had no ability to participate. After this incident, no one in this world looked down on Fire Monsters.


Act 3 - Resolution
Fire Monster heard a sound of an explosion and saw the dust and smoke outside the window when he was practising his power. The planet was invaded by unknown aliens. Suddenly, a giant Ice Monster appeared and instantly froze the entire planet. Only the Fire Monster was not frozen due to the high temperature. He rescued the Water Monster and felt overwhelmed with fear.

They mustered up the courage to fight against the giant ice monsters. As expected, it was defeated in a second. But they don’t give up. Fire Monster scalded a big hole in the Ice Monster's tail and rescued his comrades while the Ice Monster groaned.

Fire and water monsters work together to sprinkle scalding water to unfreeze the city. All superhumans unite to attack the alien invaders. The Ice Monster was defeated, and the invaders surrendered.

Finally, everyone apologized to the Fire and Water Monster. The heroic deeds of Fire Monsters appeared on major platforms, and also broadcast on the big screens in the streets. From then on, all superhumans learn from each other and protect the planet.

This is the concept I want to draw.

I find some monster references on the Internet and come out with my own monster design.

I sketch many different styles of monsters and pick the most suitable one.

These are my final three main monster designs.

These are the draft and the sketch of my cover page. The fire monster is the main character, he saves the planet with his fireball power.

The left poster is my first attempt, the type the text with Ai font. But it looks not suitable for the content, so I draw another title with a pen tool.

I search for some references on Internet before I start to sketch my comic.

I draw on paper before I transfer to AI.

These are all the scenes I draw for my comic. But I only pick 10 for my final comic.

These are the 10 scenes I pick for the final introduction. I added background and details.
